An early placeholder listing has been spotted today for an artbook based on the remaster (or remake) of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, one that could hint at a release date for the unofficially announced game.
The Art of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was published by Titan Books in 2013, which covered the concept art for the original release from Ubisoft. Now though, it seems that there is an updated version coming for the long rumoured remaster for the game based on a listing on Amazon UK.

The Amazon listing seen below has a release date of March 24th 2026, which is less than 6 weeks away and maybe a hint at when the updated game is arriving. However, although it may be shadow dropped or given a very short wait time if revealed, there is also the chance that the date is simply a placeholder, and there are signs that indicate this.
The first are that there is no cover art, no description, and the publisher is noted as 'TITAN', not 'Titan Books'. It wouldn't be the first time that a book is listed early with details that are later updated, so although it is entirely possible that the book and game could be coming very soon, it's not a guarantee.

It's also worth noting that while Titan Books was the long time publisher of the Assassin's Creed artbooks, from Assassin' Creed III to Odyssey, Dark Horse took over for the last few books. These were for The Art of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, The Art of Assassin's Creed Mirage, and last year's The Art of Assassin's Creed Shadows. It could be that Titan are back in partnership with the developer for this title, but that could also depend on what the game actually is; a remaster, or a remake?
This is also the last indication that the release and details are not final as the title 'Art/Assassins Creed Black Flag Remaster' is certainly going to change. Previous reporting has indicated that the game is a remake, not a remaster, which would mean that this book will feature new artwork and therefore opens the door for Dark Horse to be the publisher of original material. Titan Books could still release a book for a remake though, but if the new version of Black Flag is indeed a remaster, there's also a chance it may be a reprint of the 2013 book.
It's all up for speculation, but it is at least more confirmation that Ubisoft are working on Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag title, one that is a fan favourite in the series. The original release of The Art of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was filled with incredible artwork from the studio, which you can preview in the video below.
Officially announced artbooks have listings that are changed and updated for games that have already been released, so while it is fun to speculate, we shouldn't jump the gun based on a page that is clearly filled with early placeholder information.
Future updates on the book will be shared here and when an artbook does arrive, be sure to check in for a review!
